why you should consider nvfc

Born out of an idea to bridge cutting-edge technology with extraordinary clinical care, the Napa Valley Fertility Center offers a unique blend of innovative fertility solutions and a commitment to the long-term health of your offspring.

We are not simply trying to achieve pregnancy, our ultimate goal is a healthy child.

Since the first human birth from in vitro fertilization (IVF) in 1978, the field of reproductive medicine has evolved at a spectacular pace. In the 1980’s, as IVF technology first spread across the United States, the atmosphere was one of “Can we do it?” The next decade brought refined techniques and dramatic improvements in success rates as the spirit had changed to “Can we do it better?” Today, our center joins others who strive to improve upon the status quo by asking “Can we do it safer and healthier?”

Dr. Peter Uzelac founded the Napa Valley Fertility Center in the summer of 2009 with the aim of improving upon the current standard of modern-day fertility care. He identifies two particular life experiences as having a major impact on his philosophical approach. During a 4-year tenure with the University of Southern California Perinatal Group, Dr. Uzelac practiced high-risk obstetrics and witnessed the sometimes-devastating outcomes of complicated pregnancies. He cultivated a deep concern for how problems of late pregnancy and childhood can have their roots in the earliest developmental stages of life. He now brings this one-of-a-kind perspective to caring for couples struggling with infertility, paying special attention to the components of reproductive health beyond conception.

  1. distinguishing characteristics of our center include:

  2. Unparalleled contact and involvement with a single physician

  3. Emphasis on long-term health of offspring

  4. Access to a wide range of established treatments and experimental protocols

Dr. Uzelac’s commitment to offering experimental and cutting-edge fertility treatments was born out of a difficult experience he encountered when trying to access a new and minimally-invasive surgical procedure for his son. He believes that every patient deserves the right to pursue novel alternatives and, to that end, our center emphasizes access to such approaches as IVM and minimal stimulation IVF.
